On the Way of Research
Research is a short term. But actually, it has a sweeping importance. Research has been since
the beginning of man on various topics. Research means to solve a problem systematically by
collecting & analyzing data. There are many topics for research, but it is better to do research
on professional work or the purpose of peoples. Many of the people thought that in a developing
country like Bangladesh Research is extremely difficult to find the necessary resources. But
it's actually a misconception because nowadays google scholar and contact with researchers
can be obtained the necessary papers. There are several agencies for the funding. Even it is
possible to start the researching with a normal computer. The scientific method is the most
comprehensive, standard and systematic approach for research. It has several steps. They are:
“1) Raising Question, 2) Data/Information collection, 3) Formulation of hypothesis, 4) Test of
hypothesis, 5) Analyzing data, 6) Interpreting the analyzed data & to prove whether the null
hypothesis has been accepted or rejected, 7) Clarification/validation of research findings, 8)
Publication of research findings”. There is no alternative to knowing on a specific topic that
what is done by others without reading their research paper. At the end of reading each paper,
it should write a page of the report which will be contained on the abstract, good and weak site
about the article and & comments. But it is better to write a survey. So at the beginning of the
research, its need to do the following things-- 1)select the area, 2)literature review, 3)bring out
ideas. Prior to the start of the research notebook for writing, writing software such as Latex,
for the results & statistical analysis- SAS, SPSS, JMP, R, etc application must learn to use.
Then at the beginning of research, the selection of subject is extremely important. In these case,
it is better to work with the career related issues & real-life issue because of long-term thinking.
After the selection of topic, it is so important to make a good research proposal because a
researchers funding ensures by a good proposal. So while writing the proposal a researcher
should notify the following things that he has a better idea of what she wants to do, he has
thought of everything to solve, it's a new good job and the thing that he was able to explain all
of this to say about the subject. And lots of the research paper will be read. But for the lack of
time, the technical method should be followed. So, at first, research paper title, author's name
and identity will read. After the end of the abstract, it should be read introduction and
conclusion rapidly. And look at the background or motivation to the paper. This is very useful
to read the papers at the end of each topic to write a review. Four steps should be followed to
write reviews—“1) paper summarized; 2) the good sites of the paper; 3) bad side of the paper;
4) and comments about the paper”. Then it necessary to find out the right ideas to solves the
problem. So everything is going to go deep in thought, with the exception, even no barrier to
entering on imagination. And the idea would be to write the script & some of the best ideas
should be written on papers as picture or graph. “Stanford Research Institute (SRI) has a
formula for the presenting of these ideas are simply, the NABC means, N = Need, A =
Approach, B = Benefit, C = Competition”. After getting a good idea to solve the problem, it is
very important to verify whether it will work. Research papers are generally published in
journals or conferences. After the submission of Research PAPER, the experienced review
team expressed their opinion whether is it acceptable or not at the end of the review. This is
known as peer review system. The main objective of the publishing research papers is to
publish that what is the gain from the research. At the beginning of this paper is to abstract,
this section briefly highlights the entire research. And then the main part where the problem
and the requirements of the solution and benefits are portrayed at the introduction, that should
be written in five paragraphs. Then, respectively give the background, technical &
experimental part, result, related work and conclusion. At the end of the bibliography /
reference should be mentioned. Starting from formatted citations research paper writing style,
font size, everything is mentioned on the website of every journal. English is the language of
publication of research papers. Many of the research papers were eliminated because of poor
grammar & week English. For these, it will increase the quality of writing. For good quality
writing, good quality research papers should be read carefully as well as try to understands the
right way of writing. This is a well written, but it is not written cryptically and simply writes
the original statement with a few words but arranged. Ethics of the side will always keep in
mind. Plagiarism is the worst kind of the crime for research. So at the time to write something
try to write according to the own commentary, and if the use exact phrase then properly
quotation, citation, etc can be used. Research results or any project report or presentation to the
seminar necessarily involved. So its need to focus on developing the good presentation. So
something to keep in mind on topics such as it’s very important to finish the presentation in
time, so first time will be calculated. This field should be set 1 or 2 minutes for each slide. It
should be given more picture than text on the slide. Moreover, if the amount of text on the slide
is so much, the audience may be resentful. In the case of font keep in mind that not shows as
small and visitors have very far to the text becomes clear. Standard color should be used at the
time of selecting a font color. Presenting the result of research is so important for a researcher.
So for this all the fear & flatness must be overcome and make the practice on topics, totality
avoids currency errors. Would stand still in front of the audience, to look at the audience to
overcome nervousness and not just standing as static also try to use the finger postures to give
better understand. Many research papers in journals or conferences that are sending after a lot
of calculations. “In the field of research measurement values is preferable than the number."
How many people are using the work of one person to another is based on the measurement.
The impact factor, acceptance rate, H-index, i10 index, etc are considered. To become a good
researcher some mentality such as Patience, persistence, cooperation, humility, etc to put the
concept of meditation. Listen carefully to the words of others, and to practice write it down.
Another important topic is a failure because everyone can’t be a success at every time. So
failure is an essential part of any research. So these issues should be taken simply. Time
management should be proper because if you can do a lot in a short time then the scope of
research is increased. A specific time should be allocated for the day for research. All work
must be organized; daily calendar application should be used to calculate the daily work
schedule. Should develop the habit of reading and writing swiftly. Another important thing to
create an e-mail accounts to communicate with everyone and it should be seemed as
professional email address so that a researcher don’t think negative about you. Finally, if
something new is invented should keep watch that any others can’t use these as his own work.
So the use of patents and copyrights is the most secure.
