What is Cloud Computing?

Cloud Computing is the delivery of computing as a
service rather than a product, whereby shared
resources, software, and information are provided to
computers and other devices as a utility (like the
electricity grid) over a network (typically the
Internet).

What is Cloud Computing?

 The term cloud theoretically signifies abstraction of
technology, resources and its location that are very
vital in building integrated computing infrastructure
    (including networks, systems and applications)

 All Cloud Computing models rely heavily on sharing
of resources to achieve coherence and economies of
scale similar to a utility (like the electricity grid) over
    a network (typically the Internet).

Deployment Models

 Public cloud applications, storage, and other resources are made
available to the general public by a service provider. These services are
free or offered on a pay-per-use model. Generally, public cloud service
providers like Microsoft and Google own and operate the infrastructure
and offer access only via Internet (direct connectivity is not offered).

 Community cloud shares infrastructure between several organizations
from a specific community with common concerns (security,
compliance, jurisdiction, etc.), whether managed internally or by a third-
party and hosted internally or externally. The costs are spread over
fewer users than a public cloud (but more than a private cloud), so only
some of the cost savings potential of cloud computing are realized.

Public Cloud

"Increasing our client's profitability through the integration of people, processes and technology..."
Deployment Models

 Hybrid Cloud is a composition of two or more clouds
(private, community or public) that remain unique entities
but are bound together, offering the benefits of multiple
deployment models. By utilizing "hybrid cloud" architecture,
companies and individuals are able to obtain degrees of
fault tolerance combined with locally immediate usability
without dependency on internet connectivity. Hybrid Cloud
architecture requires both on-premises resources and off-
site (remote) server based cloud infrastructure.
 Private cloud is cloud infrastructure operated solely for a
single organization, whether managed internally or by a
third-party and hosted internally or externally.

Vertical Solutions’ vCloud

Vertical Solutions has a unique competitive position in
the “Cloud” and AIS/ERP market space for the SMB.

By combining the expertise and experience of our
Technology Services and ERP Divisions, we have
designed and implemented a flexible and cost effective
Private Cloud model (vCloud) to meet our client’s
requirements.

Vertical Solutions’ vCloud Model

vCloud utilizes advanced technologies to deliver a
world class, secure and cost effective solution to
hosting our clients’ core business applications (Cloud
Hosting).
Cloud Hosting — A type of internet hosting where the
client accesses virtualized, dynamically scalable
infrastructure on an as-needed basis. Users frequently
have the choice of operating system and other
infrastructure components. Typically cloud hosting is self-
service and controlled via a web interface or API.

Building the ROI

What to Consider – Cost Savings
  1) Minimizes downtime

        2) Improves backup and restore processes
        3) Personnel training and support costs
        4) Equipment evaluation, ordering, receiving,
               setup
        5) Application upgrades
        6) Managing and training technical resources

Building the ROI

What to Consider – Business Plan
        1) Growth and expansion
        2) Maximize Capital utilization (scalability of system
               resources as needed)
        3) Allows Management Team to focus on the Business
               and not Technology
        4) Leverage and extend the life of existing technology
        5) Create realistic and predictable IT budgets
        6) Immediate access to new technologies

  • 6. What is Cloud Computing? Cloud Computing is the delivery of computing as a service rather than a product, whereby shared resources, software, and information are provided to computers and other devices as a utility (like the electricity grid) over a network (typically the Internet). • 7. What is Cloud Computing?  The term cloud theoretically signifies abstraction of technology, resources and its location that are very vital in building integrated computing infrastructure (including networks, systems and applications)  All Cloud Computing models rely heavily on sharing of resources to achieve coherence and economies of scale similar to a utility (like the electricity grid) over a network (typically the Internet). Source: Wikipedia "Increasing our client's profitability through the integration of people, processes and technology..."
  • 8. Deployment Models  Public cloud applications, storage, and other resources are made available to the general public by a service provider. These services are free or offered on a pay-per-use model. Generally, public cloud service providers like Microsoft and Google own and operate the infrastructure and offer access only via Internet (direct connectivity is not offered).  Community cloud shares infrastructure between several organizations from a specific community with common concerns (security, compliance, jurisdiction, etc.), whether managed internally or by a third- party and hosted internally or externally. The costs are spread over fewer users than a public cloud (but more than a private cloud), so only some of the cost savings potential of cloud computing are realized. "Increasing our client's profitability through the integration of people, processes and technology..."

  • 10. Deployment Models  Hybrid Cloud is a composition of two or more clouds (private, community or public) that remain unique entities but are bound together, offering the benefits of multiple deployment models. By utilizing "hybrid cloud" architecture, companies and individuals are able to obtain degrees of fault tolerance combined with locally immediate usability without dependency on internet connectivity. Hybrid Cloud architecture requires both on-premises resources and off- site (remote) server based cloud infrastructure.  Private cloud is cloud infrastructure operated solely for a single organization, whether managed internally or by a third-party and hosted internally or externally.
