to my room now
MEGANS MUM MEGANS DAD
Ok goodnight darling. Sleep well.
ACT 1 SCENE 3
Megan heads off down the corridor towards
her bedroom and the camera follows behind
her until she closes her bedroom door behind
her.
MEGAN, walks towards her desk and grabs her laptop
and goes to sit on her bed, opening up the laptop
and turning it on. She then proceeds to do work on
her computer. We see her scrolling through social
media on her phone whilst she is watching a film on
her laptop. On her phone we see flashes of her name
to reinforce this characters existence.
We then see her put her laptop away and had to the bathroom
to wash her face and put her pyjamas on, after slowly
heading back to her room and getting into bed then checking
her phone for one last time before turning her bedside lamp
off and shutting her eyes.
As she shuts her eyes the camera perspective switches to a
POV shot as if the audience is looking through her eyes and
on screen we can see her eyelids shut in front of the
camera. The screen then goes black.
The screen is black for around 20-30 seconds, in the
background for the first 10 seconds we hear a flat line
beep sound to infer to the audience the death of the
character.
The flat line sound then begins to fade out and we hear the
faint voices of the French parents of Amelie begin to talk,
subtitles will be on screen to translate the following
dialogue for the rest of the film.

ACT 2 SCENE 1
AMELIE’S MUM
[Subtitled on screen](In French) Come on,
it’s time to get up, you are going to be
late for school
Allez, il est temps de se lever, vous
allez être en retard pour college!
We see the black screen slowly fade into a POV shot of
Amelie opening her eyes and looking up to her mum.
AMELIE’S DAD
[Subtitled on screen](In French)(Calling
from another room) Get out of bed, your
breakfast is getting cold, I made your
favorite, Pancakes!
Lève-toi! Ton petit-déjeuner commence à
faire froid, j'ai préparé ton préféré, Des
Crepes!
AMELIE’S MUM
[Subtitled on screen](In French)I’ll see
you in the kitchen in 10 minutes, you
better hurry up!
Je te verrai dans la cuisine en dix
minutes, dépêche-toi!
She leaves the room and we hear the shut.
ACT 2 SCENE 2
The camera flips so that the audience is looking at her in
bed. Amelie slowly sits up with a look or confusion and
worry on her face. We see her look down at her hands then
look around her room in worry and confusion.
She then gets out of her bed and walks towards a mirror on
the other side of her room and the camera pans across to
follow her.
The camera flips to an over the shoulder shot of her
looking at herself in the mirror with a look of shock on
her face as she realizes she isn’t who she thought she was.
5
She then rushes over to the desk in her room and logs into
the laptop and omens google and searches what she thought
her name was before, to find an article in the local
newspaper about her tragic and unexplained death in her
sleep, the camera then does a close up on the date of the
article being 2015 then zooms into the date on the laptop
being 2020. She then frantically searches “what is my
current location” and it shows she is in the south of
France.
The camera flips to a close up shot of her face looking
worried and scared with a couple of tears rolling down her
face.
AMELIE’S MUM
[Subtitled on screen](In French calling
from another room) are you ready yet?
Es-tu prêt?
AMELIE’S DAD
[Subtitled on screen](In French calling
from another room) come on! You are going
to be late!
Allez! Vous allez être en retard!
Amelie’s wipes the tears off of her face with her sleeve.
[The song Pieces by Rob Thomas starts to play.]
Amelie gets dressed into a hoodie and jeans and slips her
shoes on.
As her shocked face turns to face the door so does
the camera at the same time. On the back of the door
the camera zooms into a 2020 calendar then the
screen goes black.
Amelie them grabs a backpack and slings it over her
shoulder then looks back once before closing the door
behind her. The camera follows her out of the front door
and into the car.
EXT: We see a shot of a car driving off down the road.
6
INT: Amelie’s head is leant up against the window of the
car staring mindlessly out of the window at the French
countryside.
EXT: Cinematic shots of the French countryside.
Amelie then looks down and grabs out of her bag a picture
of her past self which she printed off of the article.
