Editor's Notes

  • #2: Jeremy – Welcome to our webinar
  • #4: A seasoned training executive, Viggy built Tufin's training department from scratch and delivered success in record time, including implementing top-notch training strategies, managing the creation of content and courses, and facilitating fast, effective on-boarding of employees and partners.
  • #5: Jeremy- Here is what we’ll be covering in the webinar today We’ll have polling question throughout the webinar, please get ready to participate We’ll also have Q&A at the end
  • #6: Lee - Before we get into the meat of our presentation, let’s start with our 1st poll to get a feel of who is online with us in the audience: What is your role in your training organisation? (multiple responses accepted) a. Instructor b. Course Developer c. IT specialist d. Administrator e. VP/Department Manager f. Other Comment on poll responses- see if you can make note of people wearing multiple hats based on percentages…
  • #7: Jeremy – Abdel, will kick us off and provide us with the insights from what he’s seen in the market and from his experience working with customers ABDEL– Thanks, Lee. When it comes to the major pain points for today’s training programs, we see 3 key pains come up again and again. The first is delivering modern, easy-to-use learning experiences. An unattractive or confusing learning experience is fatiguing to your learners, as well as the admins of your learning platform, and this causes them to lose focus. Today’s learning experiences should mirror the experiences of sites like YouTube and Netflix because that’s what today’s audiences expect. The next pain point is a lack of learner engagement. Learning isn’t one-size-fits-all and your audience is now comprised of four different generations – Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millennials and Gen Z. This can make it challenging to create generic learning experiences for all since each generation has its own unique traits and preferences. And the final major pain point is measuring the effectiveness of training. How do you know that your training is making a difference? The short answer is that there is no single way to determine the business impact of your training programs because every organization is working towards different goals. But a standard framework for outlining success should centre around viewing learning as a continuous activity rather than a linear process that starts at one end and stops at the other.
  • #8: Jeremy – Now that we’ve heard the common pain points which Docebo has seen from its customers, let’s see the kind of pain points that resonate with the audience on the line with us today. So please answer our next poll question. What are the biggest pain points you face in training? a. Clunky, complex customer experiences b. Not able to scale c. Time consuming and expensive to administer d. All of the above e. Something else
  • #9: ABDEL Chances are, you’re already considering or using a handful of learning, communications and management solutions in your training tech stack. By having these different applications communicate to each other through integrations, you make your jobs easier while enhancing the learner experience According to Scott Brinker of the Chief Marketing Technologist Blog, the average HR department uses 90 different cloud services, and up to 70 cloud tools are used for collaboration across departments. organizations have embraced the idea of using massive tech stacks and this is why integrations are an important part of increasing workflows and efficiencies.
  • #10: ABDEL Learning platform integrations provide a tremendous opportunity to increase connections and seamlessly improve workflows across an organization. They can be the difference maker when it comes to profits by cutting administrative costs and creating a culture of learning. Here are some of the most important apps and tools: Customer Relationship Management System Learning initiatives are crucial for improving your sales teams and increasing their results. Integrating a LMS with your CRM can greatly increase training adoption rates and allow you to fine-tune sales and product training while bringing together valuable shared data for better results on both fronts. Communications applications Integrating a web conferencing tool into a LMS creates a cost-effective way to execute formal, instructor-led training, while creating more integrated social learning opportunities and communication between experts and learners. e-Commerce capabilities If you’re looking to generate revenue, or even pay for courses through your learning platform, e-commerce integrations are an absolute must. Make sure that your LMS supports multiple languages to ensure you have the strongest market reach possible. Single Sign-On How many passwords do you use everyday? Hopefully, your passwords are saved within your browser or password vault, making it easier to remember them all. Your learning platform should come ready to assist with SSO integrations. Content Authoring Tools Authoring tool integrations can take some of the pain out of the process, making it easy to create elegant learning assets. And an integration with external content providers will let you browse, purchase, sync, and deploy courses directly through your learning platform
  • #11: ABDEL Docebo offers a complete and robust API system for our customers to perform any integration related to managing user accounts, courses and training materials, enrolling users, statistics, and much more. APIs are technology-independent, so you can use any programming language or framework to integrate your system or application with Docebo. Our APIs fully adhere to the ReST architectural style, which is the most logical, efficient and widespread standard in the creation of APIs for Internet services. But here is the best part: Docebo APIs are so powerful and complete that our developers use API to build any new feature into our platform, in conjunction with our microservice architecture. I’ll hand it off to Lee now….
  • #12: Lee – So where do virtual training labs come in? Virtual training labs are the ideal way to do software training, especially when the product you are training on – is complex – so whether you are training end users, engineers that will install and configure the system or you internal sales or customer support team, they will all benefit from learning by doing. Benefits of virtual training labs include: Realistic environments for solving actual on the job challenges, not just features Hands-on engaging and interactive experiences increase information retention Cater to modern learners Shorter attention spans More overwhelmed with information Typically younger and digitally native
  • #13: Lee – So, companies are ready for the flexibility of cloud-based learning – you don’t have to travel, you can do self-paced classes, you have no scalability limits – the key is still being able to provide the same positive, immersive classroom experiences so the training sticks. Virtual training labs are frequently used for instructor-led training, self-paced training and certifications. In addition, virtual training labs are a powerful way to bridge the gap between face-to-face training and remote-led training – through virtual instructor-led training. Because they are so simple to use, our customers tell us that they never have to decline a training request, even if it comes in last minute, they can quickly set up a class. It respects everyone's time and resources so much more, students and instructors don’t have to travel, and when courses are self-paced, students can access training platform/software in their own time.
  • #14: Lee – As trainers you all know that the learner experience is critical to successful training Fast class setup and access, with individual environments for each student High performance – know that you can deliver your courses without a hitch Strong classroom experience: The classroom experience is so important, and the virtual experience has wowed learners and instructors. It gives everyone more flexibility, but doesn’t detract from the hands-on, supportive aspects of in-person courses. Strong learner experience – customizable environments, plus the ability for hands-on, learn-by-doing training Strong instructor experience – this is just as important so students feel the same level of support as they would in person, offering an “over-the-shoulder” experience Reusable training modules to help save time and resources Support before and after – engage students with pre-course materials and ensure they have all resources after the fact
  • #15: Lee - we’re on to our next poll. Before we hear Viggy’s experience, let’s see how many of you are already integrating your LMS with other training systems: Do you currently integrate your LMS with other training systems? a. Yes b. No c. Not yet, but we plan to d. We don’t have an LMS yet Comment on poll responses.
  • #16: Lee - I’m now happy to introduce Viggy Book, Director of Training and Knowledge at Tufin. Viggy’s been there for just 3 years now and has started and grown Tufin’s training program from scratch. Viggy, can you start off by telling the audience a little bit about the company and what you’ve been doing there. Viggy - Sure, thanks Lee. Tufin is the security policy company. With enterprise networks are becoming increasingly complex and fragmented, spanning across many on-premise, private and public cloud environments, businesses can no longer efficiently and securely control information flows across their network. We believe that there is a more informed, secure and efficient way to orchestrate security-related changes across enterprise networks, and have pioneered a security policy management platform to bring automation and analytics to security and network operations.  Here are some key facts about our company so you can get an idea of the size of our company and the types of customers we deal with: We have more than 2,000 customers in over 50 countries, 50% are fortune 500 companies Our Headquarters are based in Boston and Tel Aviv, with over 500 employees worldwide and Offices in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific We have 14 protected patents and this past April we had an IPO on the New York Stock Exchange
  • #17: Viggy Here are some other key facts about our company so you can get an idea of the size of our company and the types of customers we deal with: Some of the largest enterprises on earth automate their network using Tufin, including leading Industries such as Finance, Communication, Manufacturing, Energy, Healthcare & Pharma and Retail. And what is probably most relevant for this audience is that the company positions our training as one of its key differentiators Tufin Training: The industry’s leading certification program for mastering Network Security Policy Management.
  • #18: Lee – Let’s go back to 2016 when you joined Tufin to understand what was training like when you arrived and what was your initial charter. Viggy – I was hired to establish a training department as the company understood that training would be critical to helping them grow. When I arrived, the support staff was training customers with PowerPoints and when necessary would ship equipment and support engineers to train customers on-site around the world This definitely was not a cost-effective or scalable solution and definitely would not support Tufin’s growth targets
  • #19: Lee – So what were the first things you did? Viggy – I knew that I wanted to create self-paced training courses that were as low touch as possible and since we have a very complex software product, I knew that I had to provide hands-on training lab element as part of the courses, since practice is the best way to learn. It was clear that I needed an LMS that would be easy to use and manage that would allow us to provide a self-service portal where users could manage their courses. I knew that training labs had to be an integral part of this experience. We wanted to make the experience as smooth and seamless for our learners as possible, minimize any friction to facilitate the actual learning – and we realized this entailed integrating these learning platforms with other systems to create a full solution I discovered that our sales engineers had already started experimenting with virtual labs to conduct remote demos. I found solution #1 and had an integration made between those labs and Docebo. There were a few major problems with this solution We experienced performance issues with the labs, they were slow, heavy and couldn’t launch multiple instances at once The integration was clunky, the user still had to go through a few steps to get the labs up and running It was clear that solution #1 was not a good user experience and not scalable So next we tried the instance of CloudShare that the sales team had begun to try. They resulted in much better performance. Then we had the team at Docebo and CloudShare work on the integration. It took less than a month to go live and the user experience worked with a single click
  • #20: Lee: This is great Viggy, can you show us what this looks like Viggy– Sure, we actually created a video to show the steps in the integration and the user experience. Let’s take a look…. We created a fully automated experience so when customers go to CloudShare they go through Docebo, they click on a button and don’t know they are moving from our Learning Management system to CloudShare. It’s all seamless to the users. (Point out and explain the steps) Abdel can add any color about the integration experience
  • #21: Viggy – A very effective way to train our customers: Seamless user experience One click from the LMS Learners don’t need a separate CloudShare login No explanation needed for customers Learners can’t launch labs until they’ve completed 80% of coursework (automated) Almost zero maintenance – one example of something we have yet to automate is to extend the lab hours We have provisioned 10 hours of lab time per student per class. Often this isn’t enough so we extend manually at this point Great customer feedback – favorite part of their training
  • #22: Viggy – We now provide a huge amount of training hours 60 lab courses are 600 hours of training It’s all seamless. The learners follow the instructions for the exercises in their course book and we hardly ever have to manually help them
  • #23: Can also look at : RAM GB-Hrs – last 12 months/ month over month Peak Disk Usage – last 12 months/ month over month
  • #24: Lee – Wow. You’ve done an amazing job in such a short time. What’s next on your agenda? Viggy – This year we are focusing on: Increasing retention Increasing demand for more training Making courses more modular/shorter Creating more scenario-based training/ less pure technical training Making training more interactive Adding virtual instructor-led training options. CloudShare’s features close the gap between in-person and virtual training.
  • #25: If no questions submitted – we will ask: How much work and time was required to set up the integration?
