MYSELF AND MY COMMUNITY 6 TH SEPTEMBER 2010
Hands up If you can name… 3 corrosive chemicals 3 flammable chemicals 3 explosive chemicals
QUICK QUIZ Hands Up if you know what Organs are? Hands up if you have come across the term ā€˜Organ Systems’ How many organs do humans have in their body?
MYSELF Lesson Objectives (You have 3 minutes to copy the objectives) Learning the location and functions of organs. Learning how the organs systems are linked to the 7 main life processes.
MYSELF Your Task Discuss and write down the 7 main life processes with the person next to them. Verbal Feedback You will feedback the class at the end of 2 or 3 minutes discussion. 6TH SEPTEMBER 2010
MAIN TASK Issue a large piece of paper to each group and ask one member of each group to lie on the paper. One member must draw around that body. They must then draw in, label and write in the functions of as many organs as possible. Ask groups to tape their labelled outlines around the room. Issue red , yellow and green traffic lights cards (disagree, not sure and agree respectively) and pupils to hold up the cards during the feedback presentation. Challenge any misconceptions.
HUMAN ANATOMY-ORGANS http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/humanbody/body/factfiles/organs_anatomy.shtml HOME WORK We are looking at location and functions of organs and also learning about the organ systems in the body. Your task is to find out more about organs in the body. Visit the website shown below and click on the labels to find out more about organs in the body. (Any problem, see me in C16 I.Ukiwah) http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/humanbody/body/factfiles/organs_anatomy.shtml
ORGANS INSIDE THE BODY
Plenary: Optivote questions on which organs system is used for each 7 main life processes. Or create powerpoint questions for pupils to read the questions and answer into books.
