- 4. If I were one of the Powerpuff girls: I would fight against my worst enemy. I could get everthing I need. I might be very popular at school. I wouldn’t be late at school. I’ d be good at fights. I wouldn’t need a police in the streets. I could change a tire without help.

Unreal conditional sentences with if clauses: Rules to form unreal conditional sentences: Two types of verbs forms are used in the clauses a) Simple past form in the if clause b) a modal verb in the main clause. E.g. If I found $750,000, I would buy a new car. If I were super heroe, I could see through the walls. If I had superpowers, I might fly around the world.
- 6. 2. The clauses can be used in either order. No comma is necessarry when the if clause comes second. E.g. If I had special powers, I wouldn’t use them to be famous. I wouldn’t use them to be famous if I had special powers. If I were very famous, I might appear in television. I might appear in television if I were vere famous.
- 7. 3. We can use various modals in the main clause. The most common is would , or its contraction ‘d. We can also use: Would = ‘d Could (ability) Might (possibility) E.g. If I found $750,000, I might go to the police . (possibility) If I found $750,000, I could buy a new house. (ability)
- 8. What would you do…? If you found a wallet in the street. If you saw a person copy in an exam. If you fail the English course. If you were the Mexican’s President. If you fell in love on your best friend’s boyfriend/girlfriend.

- 15. Past Modals We use I would have to give an opinions about an action in the past. E.g. I would have studied French when I was a child. I would have come earlier to the class. I would have visited my grandmother yesterday. I would have done the homework.
- 16. We use I should have to make a suggestion about a past event. In both cases, our opinion or suggestions is too late. E.g. I should have listened to my father advice. I should have eaten healthy food as a kid. I should have finished my career. I shouldn’t have gone to the party.
