This study compares three augmented reality (AR) interfaces for vehicle navigation: head-up display (HUD), head-down display (HDD), and head-mounted display (HMD). Results indicate that HUD provided the best driving performance with fewer navigational errors and was preferred by participants, while HDD led to more speeding and errors. HMD showed similar errors to HDD but was ranked the least favorable, highlighting the importance of display visibility and user comfort in navigation systems.
