There is a difference between technology use and technology integration in education. Technology integration involves using technology tools to help students learn curriculum content, rather than just using technology for its own sake. For example, students may use software tools to represent what they know about a subject and engage in critical thinking. While schools are increasingly demanding technology skills to prepare students for the workforce, the goal of technology integration is to teach students how to research information from various sources and use technology to enhance and demonstrate their learning.
