Peek at the Week:
o In Reading, we began Unit 2. Our new high
frequency words for this week was “and”.
o Also, in Reading, we practiced rhyming words,
introduced the letter Dd, blended syllables, and
used character and setting to understand a story.
o In Math we introduced a new game, Roll and
Record. Students also began Chapter Three,
counting and writing sets of 6-9.
o In science, we discussed animal habitats and
took a short walk to examine fall leaves.
o In handwriting, we are working on printing the
uppercase and lowercase Dd.
o Students presented their projects MY WORLD to
the class. We had a lot of discussion of how
families are different.
Coming Up:
o Next week in Reading we will be
introducing the consonant sound of /s/.
o Students will also continue to discuss
the characters and setting and well as
classify and categorize information from
a story.
o In Math, we will begin using games to
reinforce math concepts. Students will
also work on a new game called
Monster Squeeze.
o We will be talking about why people
have jobs and paying bills next week!
o Students will learn how to print the
uppercase and lowercase Ss.
o Students will be introduced to reptiles.
*Reminders*
 Daily and Friday folders need returned as this is the child’s organizational method of
communication between home and school.
 Gardner’s Candy pickup will be at the PC Intermediate on Nov. 8, 4-7 and Nov. 9,
8-3.
 Conference reminders are in the white folder today.
 Please dress your child appropriately for outdoor recess. We go outside as long as it
is dry and above 50 degrees. Sweatshirts can be kept in school.
 Thanks to everyone that came to Buddy Lunch and became “buddies” to other
students!rdner’s candy pickup will be at PCI on Nov. 8 from 4-7, and on Nov. 9 pickup will be at PCI on Nov. 8 from 4-7, and on Nov. 9 from 8-3.
