Week one
- 1. Peek at the Week: o In Reading, we began Unit 2. Our new high frequency words for this week were “and, play and make”. o Also, in Reading, we practiced rhyming words, introduced the letter Dd, blended syllables, and used character and setting to understand a story. o In Math we introduced a new game, Roll and Record. Students also made their pattern noodle necklace. o In science, we discussed animal habitats, along with insects o In handwriting, we are working on printing the uppercase and lowercase Dd. Coming Up: o Next week in Reading we will be introducing the consonant sound of /s/. o Students will also continue to discuss the characters and setting and well as classify and categorize information from a story. o In Math, we will begin using games to reinforce math concepts. Students will also work on a new game called Monster Squeeze. o We will continue to work with insects next week and introduce reptiles. o Students will learn how to print the uppercase and lowercase Ss. *Reminders* Daily and Friday folders need returned as this is the child’s organizational method of communication between home and school. Conference reminders are in the white folder today. Please dress your child appropriately for outdoor recess. We go outside as long as it is dry and above 50 degrees. Please remember your child’s snack day as the kids are disappointed if they don’t have an afternoon snack. Thanks to everyone that came to Buddy Lunch and became “buddies” to other students! Angel Tree starts next week. October 28th , 2016
