Peek at the Week:
o The students identified the colors this week.
o We introduced more of our materials so that we can
begin activity centers next week.
o We practiced identifying title,
letters/words/sentences,and shapes.
o The students worked on properpencilholding and
tracing lines. We continue to practice writing
names. Color words were also traced.
o In Math, the students practiced colorpatterns,
discussed volume ofliquid/sand and graphed
birthdays.
o This week in Science, we discussed howscientists
use five senses and move weatherdiscussion.
o We also discussed howimportantrules are to help
ourhome,schooland community run smoothly!
o Students have been working with me to check their
identification of numbers 0-20,upperand lowercase
letters and colors.
Coming Up:
o In reading we will be working on
identifying letters Aa through Kk,
using illustrations to help understand
and predicttest, moving left to right
and newhigh frequency word “the”.
o The students will be practicing
printing their names and straight
strokes.
o In science,we will continue learning
aboutplants and howthey grow.
o During math, the students will learn
aboutnumbers in ourworld
(telephone,address,patterns) and
examine different shapes.
Reminders:
o Students need to be practicing letter and number
recognition to reinforce what is being taught in
school.
o Library Books - We will check out books every
Tuesday. Please return them by the following
Tuesday!
o Please monitor your child for proper pencil and
scissor grasp.
o Don’t forget to check the snack calendar for your
child’s snack day!
o Enclosed is the first list of high frequency words
that your child needs to work on. Please cut
them out and keep handy to practice daily!
