TAKE AWAY - • This presentation was done to show you what will take place each month that will indicate what needs to be calibrated. • Quality will generate the report and send it to all pertinent personnel. • It will be up to the parties in Operations to take the responsibility in locating and to determine what will be the outcome of these items. • Suggest all items be kept up to date on calibrations. Many items show that they are pass due. This doesn’t look good to Customers if a certificate is requested, an API/ISO Auditor or in house Quality. • After this is put into motion, it is the responsibility of the departments to keep up with this when you receive your report. If equipment is kept out of date a Corrective Action will be issued and sent to the respective department to ensure the problem is taken care of. You typically have 30 days to get it off the floor into calibration if nothing is done then an inquiry will be sent to the next highest level of authority. And it keeps going forward until the requirement is met. • If you do not want to have certain equipment calibrated on their due date; you will need to pull these items off the floor and put in a locked cabinet until you decide to have them calibrated. Same goes for if you want to wait until you have several to send at one time, pull them and lock them up until ready to have calibrated. • A locked cabinet ensures they won’t accidentally be used in shop, taken offshore and will alleviate any Corrective Action being issue. - #8: This is a Calibration Record that has all the selections populated. Every Unit or Tool that requires to be calibrated will have it’s own Record.
- #9: Explanation of each - 1. Serial Number is the S/N of the Calibrated Unit (Tool) 2. Calibrated by is the Company who did the calibration of that Unit 3. Calibrated Date is the actual date the Unit was calibrated 4. Due Date is the actual date that Unit will require to be recalibrated 5. Description is explanation of what the Unit is – details 6. Equipment Type-what type of equipment is this particular Unit, Bucking Unit, Torque Wrench, Caliper, etc.
- #10: Continued - 1. Is Out of Service-Is the Unit in service being used or Out of service sitting on shelf, in calibration, broken. This is a Yes or No answer. 2. Date Placed into Service-When did the Unit actually start getting used? If you have a tool calibrated and when it comes in you store it and put into service 2 months later your actual calibration date becomes the date you put it into service and Due Date will be the 1 year from actually putting it into service. 3. Facility – Lafayette, Kilgore or Alice 4. Link to Certificate is the most current Calibration Certificate 5. Attach File is a history of all Calibration Certificates
