Krishna asks Arjuna to declare boldlyto the whole world that His devotees never meet destruction. Krishna never leaves His devotees in no-matter-what circumstances. Even if the devotee accidentallymisbehaves, Krishna protectshim and helps him to correct himself and continueserving Him. Pastimes of Maharaj Citraketu& Maharaj Parikshit Citraketu Maharaj: Due to accidental offense, he was cursed by mother Parvati to become demon in next birth. Citraketu Maharaj very humbly accepted the curse and became a demon Vritrasura in next birth but still he
- 2. remained a great devotee. He remembered the Lord while leaving his body and went back home, back to Godhead. Parikshit Maharaj: By the arrangement of Lord, Parikshit Maharaj committed insignificant accidental offense to one Rishi and thus was cursed to die within 7 days. Parikshit Maharaj took this opportunityto renounceeverything and sit for hearing Krishna katha till the end of his life. Lord Krishna saved him by sending Shukadeva Goswami to him so that he could absorb himself in hearing Krishna katha and remember the Lord while leaving this world which he did ultimately MORAL: Devotee of Krishnacannotperish because Krishnapersonallypurifiesthosewho have taken shelter of Him and who are seriouslyfixed in theirdetermination. Very soon such devoteebecomes righteous. This does not mean, however, that after coming to devotional service one can do any nonsenseand still consider oneself as devotee. Krishna is only talking about accidental misdeeds and not the deliberate ones.
