A person in ignorance makes poor choices in three areas: food, sacrifice, and charity. They choose tasteless, rotten food instead of wholesome options. Their sacrifices lack scriptural guidance and distribution of spiritual food. They give charity in inappropriate places, times, or to unworthy recipients without proper respect.

HOW DOES A PERSON IN IGNORANCE BEHAVE?
A person in ignorance chooses his food that is tasteless,
decomposed and putrid, remnants of somebody and
untouchablethings. E.g. Food such as meat and liquor
He does sacrifice that is without regard for the directions
of scripture, without distribution of prasadam [spiritual
food], without chanting of Vedic hymns and without faith.
He performs austerity out of foolishness, with self-torture
or to destroy or injure others. Austerity of Ravana and
Hiranyakashipu are in the mode of ignorance.
He gives charity at an impure place, at an improper time,
to unworthypersons, or without proper attentionand
