Technology Acceleration
in the Workplace #MarcoTradeshow18
Five generations all in a
single workforce!
That means roots run deep,
values differ, and technology
can either be a bridge or a
barrier.
 1996-present: iGen, aka Generation Z
 1977-1995: Millennials, aka Generation Y
 1965-1976: Generation X
 1946-1964: Baby Boomers
 1945 and earlier: Traditionalists
Some companies will lose 80% of their service
workforce starting in 2020!
“Great things in business are
never done by one person;
they're done by a team of
people.”
– Steve Jobs

Collaboration Trends
 Artificial intelligence becomes embedded in the
workplace
 Remote teams will multiply
A recent survey by Frost &
Sullivan reports that of
45 to 50 million
conference
rooms worldwide,
only 4.1% have video
conferencing
capabilities.
#MarcoTradeshow18
Collaboration Trends
 Meetings are becoming more frequent, less
structured and less formal
 Conference rooms will become the “living room” of the office
 Growth in huddle rooms and small meeting spaces allow for
collaboration where employees can gather for teamwork
 Collaboration will be central to IT culture
 IT will become increasingly agile, further embedding
themselves throughout entire organization
 Security leads to changes in collaboration architecture
 Enhanced end-to-end security and support standards, like
ISO 27001 certification at the app level, not just in data center

A report by Microsoft reveals the average human loses focus after 8 seconds.
Goldfish, with an attention span of 9 seconds, now have us beat.
According to a Time report, this is a four-second drop from 2000, when humans
had an average attention span of 12 seconds.
Technology is a driving factor behind this drop.

  • #6: Comfort talking to machines. already talk to our phones, our cars, and our houses. we’ll start talking to our conference rooms, soon after that, to artificially-intelligent team members. It’s driven not just by the rapid evolution of team-focused tools like work chat and video conferencing, but by social and economic forces like the increasing time and resources required for commuting, and the leveling skills and expertise across geographies.
  • #7: Offices will evolve to contain team-focused open areas, which will be reinforced with technology. These spaces, like our living rooms at home, designed to be comfortable zones for people to gather and for them to interact with media, data, and remote co-workers. Businesses will start to look at a physical space that encourages team collaboration and add in video technologies that support high emotional fidelity (high-frame-rate, high-resolution, low-latency audio and video) plus AI-based ambient technology to assist in its use. ****Marco’s Service Offering****
