Certain statements in this presentation constitute forward-looking statements or forward-looking information within
the meaning of applicable securities laws (“forward-looking statements”). Such forward-looking statements involve
known and unknown risks, uncertainties and other factors that may cause the actual results, performance or
achievements of Open Text, or developments in Open Text’s business or in its industry, to differ materially from the
anticipated results, performance, achievements or developments expressed or implied by such forward-looking
statements. The historical increases in the Company's revenues and earnings do not assure the revenues and
earnings will not decrease in the future. Forward-looking statements include all disclosure regarding possible events,
conditions or results of operations that is based on assumptions about future economic conditions and courses of
action. Forward-looking statements may also include any statement relating to future events, conditions or
circumstances. Open Text cautions you not to place undue reliance upon any such forward-looking statements,
which speak only as of the date they are made. Forward-looking statements relate to, among other things, changes
in the ECM market; the market focus of Open Text, Open Text’s revenue mix and margin targets; Open Text’s
operations priorities; and Open Text’s strategy for its products and solutions. The risks and uncertainties that may
affect forward-looking statements include, among others, the completion and integration of acquisitions, the
possibility of technical, logistical or planning issues in connection with deployments, the continuous commitment of
Open Text's customers, demand for Open Text's products and other risks detailed from time to time in Open Text's
filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission and Canadian provincial securities regulators, including Open
Text's Annual Report on Form 10-K for the year ended June 30, 2010. Forward-looking statements are based on
management’s current plans, estimates, projections, beliefs and opinions, and the Company does not undertake any
obligation to update forward-looking statements should assumptions related to these plans, estimates, projections,
beliefs and opinions change.

Today’s workforce
is mobilizing….
Knowledge workers have
evolved into
mobile professionals
Is your mobile workforce truly mobile?
 Do your employees have
mobile access to business
information and project
teams?
 Connected to people,
process and content -
anytime and
everywhere?
 Is it a safe and secure
environment?
Smartphone = Work from anywhere
Notebook vs. “Smart” Devices
“Mobile Workers accessing
enterprise systems worldwide will
reach ~1 billion mark this year
and 1.2 billion by 2013”
Where is your organization?
Value
Stage of Enterprise Mobility
1. Encourage Adoption
2. Increase Efficiency
3. Efficient Decision Making
4. Enterprise Productivity
Single platform
support
Mostly wireless
email (PIM)
Multiple platform
support
Department or
User specific
mobile apps
Flexible platform

Enterprise wide
mobile app
deployments
Key Challenges
…traditionally ECM content
and applications tie you
down to a computer or
internet connection
…Accessing Email on the go is
not the same as engaging
information on the go
Lack of mobility = Inefficient Alternatives
Mobile workers
have a variety
of inefficient
options
Print out and
copy and
hope it’s the
latest version
Wireless email or
attach content to
emails
Go without it ,
not worth the
hassle
Write the info
down on paper
and manually
reenter later
Download local
copy, and haul
around a laptop
Barriers to adopting mobile solutions
• Risk of compliance lapses and
spiraling telecom expenses
• Lack integration and scalability
for company wide deployment
• Silos of mobile solution without
integration into the enterprise
application infrastructure and
content repositories
• Availability of meaningful mobile
ECM Solutions

Mobility doesn’t need to be cost prohibitive
“Enterprises are turning away from
"one size fits all" organization-owned
smartphone mobile strategies in favor
of multi-device, employee owned
smart phone strategies” Forrester Aug 2010
Moving beyond wireless email – Defining
your mobility goals
 Encourages adoption of your
ECM Suite
 Keeping People Connected
to High Value Information
 Increasing Both Personal
and Corporate Efficiency
 Being more Responsive to
the needs of your Customers
Choosing technology ….
 Security?
 Reliability?
 Adoption?
 Deployment?
 Cost?
“We listened to what our
customers said their must have
For a mobile ECM solution
“..and then we delivered it.”

Editor's Notes

  • #4: Highlight that they are accessing the internet
  • #5: The mobile professional will expect to access the internet as well as their enterprise content and process and people. Its time to move beyond email to in order to drive productivity not just for the individual but for the enterprise as a whole
  • #6: Speaker Notes:Survey the room …. how many of you have a mobile workforce .. Moreover smartphone. Beyond web browsing and email what else are you using it for.Now what if we excluded notebooks and wireless email from the picture would it really be a mobile workforce?
  • #7: Speaker Notes:Its not about providing employees with notebooks and a vpn connection. Could drive costs and not to mention support and maintenance. In fact ….. Most of your employees that have a smartphone are using it because of location flexibility … and really that’s what drives productivity … not just in the individual but in the enterprise as a whole. But what are they using their devices for. I’d argue that beyond email there is not much else.
  • #8: Speaker Notes:Small screen” no longer a barrier to mobile application adoptionDevice capability, battery life, and application intelligence are allowing tablets like the iPad and Playbook to be substitutes for notebooks in the Enterprise. But do not be fooled these are mobile deviceAlways on and ubiquitous mobile access are the trends of the dayFather story
  • #9: What is driving this growth of smartphone adoption is the anticipation of more complex and capable applications deployed to these devicesBeyond email … how does this impact your organization? What challenges are you facing?
  • #10: Whats your current state on mobile deployment s in your enterprise?Where a yourself where are we today? At open text …we were …As you move along the curve the value your mobile solution deployments increases exponentially
  • #12: Business Intelligence problems User who don’t have access to specific content will be forced to make decisions without the information they needwaste time manually copying info into Content Servers or from one application to another like expense trackingVersion control and synchronization problemsDownloading local copies for use on the go, discourages out-of-office workers from having the latest version and from storing content within the ECM system (enterprise library)
  • #13: Not to long ago there were a lack of mobile solutions out there that are truly “enterprise ready” So now we have all these capable device in the market but with a lack of applications ….. Or productivity/business applications. In the Apple App Store you will see applications like expense tracking, battery meter, document editing etc …not really menat for the enterprise but targeted more for the profession consumer.
  • #14: Employee paid devices entering the office .. Imagine your employees covering the costs of their devices .. Furthermore you enable you employee to use their preferred device. Equates to adoption for not only the mobile solution but also drives adoption of the ECM Suite
  • #15: You will need to consider:People: Review the profile of your target audience. Objectives: Decide on your goals and objectives for your mobile solutionsStrategy: Determine your approach to meeting your objectives. Technology: Choose the technologies that will enable you to implement your strategy.
  • #17: Taking all things into consideration Our [Content Server] customers told us what they want out of a mobile productMeaningful mobile access where users find relevant content, faster! And improves overall productivityThat can be deployed –globally usingfewer resources, and of courseThat offers workflow, document management and social media and collaboration capabilities Within their compliance-enabled environment. That doesn’t take an army to upgrade or deploy
  • #20: Native applications are much more robust and can leverage the capabilities of the device Such as Push notification where information is sent to you rather than you needing to go find. I wouldn’t argue that one is better than the other. Consider the goals and objectives of your mobility deployment … which one meets your needs which will provide a greater ROI.
  • #21: What does mobilizing the ECM suite mean ?
  • #22: Give examples
  • #23: Speaker Notes:keep your finger on the pulse of the activity that is happening within Content Server, by viewing things like the Activity Feed for the colleagues you are most interested in, or an Activity Feed for a specific folder location you are interested in. It enables easy, yet secure, collaboration around a piece of content through commenting….everywhere Give examples “Pulse ups”Features:Document centric collaboration Status updatesSee when colleagues' upload new content to CS(activity feeds)Experience an increase in productivity and a reduction in project timelines with the new social interface while still keeping the access controls, auditing, and other familiar capabilities of Content Server. …everywherekeep your finger on the pulse of the activity that is happening within Content Server, by viewing things like the Activity Feed for the colleagues you are most interested in, or an Activity Feed for a specific folder location you are interested in. It enables easy, yet secure, collaboration around a piece of content through commenting….everywhere Discover and Collaborate on New Content and Share Status Updates while Leveraging Content Server’s Capabilities..everywhere
  • #29: Facilitates group collaboration by making it easier to access and share content within the organizationRemoves complexity by focusing on main features of accessing and uploading content and processing workflowsEffective management of contentLeverages the secure infrastructure and pushes Content Server permissions to the mobile deviceA single “out of the box” application that enables access to the ECM suite reliably and securelySupports multiple device types, without modifications on the serverRequires very limited resources and ongoing maintenance
