- 2. So after posting the video my teacher responded with his feedback as can be seen in the comments section. I then had to go back into Videopad, an editing program, to correct the credits as the font used for the credits didn’t reflect the genre of our trailer. I went to several free font websites. This was difficult as I had never installed fonts on my computer before. I had only downloaded titles that I had created on a website for my YouTube channel. I looked on YouTube to learn how to install fonts and found a video that helped. This video showed me how to install fonts and the second version of our practice intro shows the updated fonts.
- 3. This is what we have recorded, edited, produced and presented to our class for a first draft. For the opening credits of our short film we tried to create a tense, horrible, grim scene to cause the audience to be squeamish. We created this by the use of camera angles. In the video, we used shots such as long, low shots to show dramatic scenes. An example was of a school hall that is shown in our intro. It showed a long scary image to give off a sense of tension for the viewer as they do not know where the hall is, where it will take them and who or what is there. Another example is the two shadow picture. We took an image of two people standing together and positioned to where one of them looked like they were going to be murdered. We took this picture by having the cameramen direct the camera from a high angle to get the best out of the shadows cast. This was hard to do as we didn't want the cameramans shadow in the picture. So this led to the picture being a bird’s- eye-view of a shadow and we worked hard to ensure that it didn’t look like it was taken from up above. We also had difficulty in that the images in the film were very bright and colorful and didn’t create the tense scenes we wanted. This meant that we had to edit the images. We dimmed the contrast and brightness of the pictures and then added a 'noise' filter. This gave the video an old fashioned, grimy look that contributed to the intensity of the scene.
