Editor's Notes

  • #2: Welcome everyone to the presentation and provide a foreshadowing on will be discussed relating technology to the connection with student learning.
  • #3: Give an overview of the different studies you’re about to explain and how each carry significant proof that technology facilitates learning!
  • #4: Describe in further detail the CARET study and the implications it carries toward student learning outcomes.
  • #5: Cite the Harvey-Woodall study as one of the sources of evidence proving the following two factors: 1) Technology is a great way to build improvement on measurable objectives, and 2) students are more apt to become more involved in class discussion and projects because of technology.
  • #6: Explain the Brabec, Fisher, and Pitler assimilation and how students are expected to gain the skill sets listed in this chart through the effective use of technology.
  • #7: Use as a segue to transition to technology having an equal pertinence for success with college students. Show that technology has common practical applications for literally everyone, regardless of intellect or academic standing.
  • #8: Become more specific with regard to technology, citing wireless internet as one of the most major conductors of educating students to whole new levels. Elaborate on each advantage provided by the availability of wireless internet, and the capability it has to facilitate higher levels of learning among anyone who takes advantage. Use the Ohio University study as a means to convey the evidence. Elaborate on each bullet point individually to emphasize the advantages.
  • #9: Address the responsibilities of faculty and administration to make sure the goals of technological advance in classrooms can be carried out. Make sure audience knows this is a very collaborative effort.
  • #10: Wrap-up the presentation leaving listeners with a feeling of positivity, motivated to take action.
  • #11: Include a works cited page in case further questions require consulting the actual research
