Classroom Rules
  Professor Cruz
   English 10th
Rule #1
Be in your seats and ready to begin
when the bell rings. Listen when
others are speaking. Stay on the
same track or topic as the other
class members. Wait to be dismissed
when the bell rings.
Rule #2
A student is considered tardy to
class if he or she is not inside this
classroom by the time the bell rings.
Tardies are kept for the entire
semester. Three (3) tardies are equal
to one (1) absence.
Rule #3
After an absence, written excuses
are required. Check about due dates
for make up work. This is your
responsibility, not the teacher’s.
Rule #4
Bring materials and have them ready
at all times. Leave other people’s
materials alone.
Rule #5
No food or beverages of any sort,
except bottled water, is allowed in
the classroom. There will be no use
of sunglasses in the classroom.
Rule #6
No electronic devices (iPods,
headsets, etc…) will be allowed. No
cell phones will be allowed by the
students in the classroom. This rules
complies for personal use. If the
teacher requires them for
educational use then they may be
used.
Rule #7
Special assignments will only be
accepted on lined loose-leaf paper
written in pen or pencil. No spiral
paper, colored paper, half-sheets,
graph paper, or recycled paper.
Rule #8
Late assignments will be accepted
but points will be deducted for
tardiness. (Assignments are due at
the beginning of class inside the
assigned tray.) Plagiarism and
cheating are unacceptable and will
result in a zero (0) grade.
Rule #9
Work on other academic subjects
only after completing assigned work
for this class. Work time should be
used appropriately.
Rule #10
Work according to your individual
potential. Set goals for yourself.
Keep a positive attitude. If you are
feeling frustrated, schedule a
conference with the teacher.
Rule #11
Be polite to teachers and classmates.
Keep distractions to a minimum.
Avoid unnecessary body movements,
rude comments, trips to the pencil
sharpener or waste basket. Keep
hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
Rule #12
Leaving the classroom: No one will leave the
classroom once the bell has rung because every
minute of educational time is important. However,
students will be allowed to go to the school office
for medical care or illness, but the student must
first receive permission from the teacher and
make it clear what the situation is. It is the
student’s responsibility to go to the bathroom
between passing periods or lunch.
Rule #13
No vandalism. Don’t write or carve on
your desk or school property.
Maintain your work area clean.
Rule #14
To best benefit the education of the
students in the classroom, the
teacher reserves the right to amend
the rules if the need arises.
Rule #15
Consequences for breaking the
classroom rules: infractions will
result in the student being referred
to the social worker, guidance
counselor, or principal.
