YOUR COMPANY              1. Design and create branding assets.
                               Follow the Pastiche branding guide to create the required images to personalize your Pastiche app with
                               your own branding. If you are updating the app, then only the branding assets to be updated need to be
                               provided.

                             2. Send branding assets to Xyleme
                               Submit a zip file containing the branded assets. You can use email, ftp or a web form.

                             3. Build and package branded Pastiche app
                               Integrate branded assets and build an app package. We will provide a preliminary app package that you
                               can install on your iPad through iTunes Desktop or your Kindle Fire to see how your branded app looks
                               on the tablet.

                             4. Submit app to Apple’s App Store
                               Send the app package to the App Store




APPLE, INC. / AMAZON, INC.
                             5. Review and Approve App
                               The Pastiche demo iPad app was approved 7 days after submission. 2 weeks is the average.
                               Updates of the Pastiche demo app have been approved within 3 days.

                             6. Make app available for download
                               End users can connect with their tablets to the App Store and download the branded app

The following instructions explain how your learners install your branded Pastiche app (the player) into their tablets. How
your learners get the actual content (the learning products you create) is described later in this document.



New Users

                                        Download from the App Store
                                        •   Your custom branded app is available in the App Store and can be downloaded as any other app.
                                        •   Help your users find your app with a link on your website




Existing Users

                                        App Update Notification
                                        •   The App Store automatically notifies your users as soon as a new version of your app is available for
                                            download.

1. Import or Create
  •   Import your existing Word, Excel, PDF and PowerPoint documents,
  •   Enrich them and create new content with Studio, Xyleme’s authoring tool.
  •   All content is stored in very granular, platform-agnostic XML for rapid reuse.
  •   Drag and drop existing content (learning objects) to build new products.
  •   Add supporting materials in a variety of formats like PDF, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.


2. Real Time QA
  •   Built-in preview to QA your product in real time within a browser.
  •   See how your content will look in the tablet without the need to deploy to the real device
  •   Save lots of time and hassle.




3. Publish
  •   Publish your Pastiche product with a single click.
  •   The Pastiche product can be loaded into the tablet directly before making it available on the
      Store.



4. Upload to Pastiche Store
  •   Your own hosted Storefront.
  •   Upload your products and make them immediately available to your learners.
  •   Define who can download the products: make them public or only available to specific users and
      groups.

New Products
               1. Load the inApp Store
                 •   Your branded app is seamlessly integrated with your Storefront.
                 •   Users authenticate and access the Store Front from within the app from where they can access your
                     product catalog.




               2. Select and install product
                 •   Your learners select which products to install from your Storefront.
                 •   Products are downloaded and installed locally on the device and are available even offline.




Product Updates
               1. Product update notification
                 •   Your tablet app notifies learners when a new version of a learning product they have
                     downloaded is available.




               2. Select products to update
                 •   Learners get a list of the learning product updates available and select which ones to update.

Licensing model
             Product License purchase
                  •   B2B model.
                  •   The transaction happens outside of the Pastiche Ecosystem.
                  •   In the Pastiche Store create a license key and associate a number of learning products to it. Define the
                      maximum number of uses that license key allows.
                  •   Sell the license and get it distributed among learners.
                  •   Through the app, learners add the license key and get instant access to the associated learning
                      products.




InApp Purchase
             eCommerce Transaction through the App*
                  •   B2C model.
                  •   The transaction happens within the Pastiche Ecosystem.
                  •   In the Pastiche Store, you define a price for your products.
                  •   Learners access your product catalog using your tablet app and decide which content to
                      buy.
                  •   Learners pay for the product and are then authorized to download and install the product on
                      their devices.
                  •   Apple’s and Amazon’s policies force any inApp payment to go through their payment
                      gateway and they charge a 30% commission on the selling price.
