Old Parking Trends
A traditional parking is basically an open or covered parking on road or on
any place of land .
Normally, the parking spaces are marked on the ground with white or yellow
lines that form squares that each fit one car.
Old Parking Trends
Platform Type Automatic Systems
Need of parking solution
The conventional car parking facility needs a larger land
construction area but accommodates fewer vehicles as compared to
the building with autonomous multistoried car parking system.
• To occupy land area effectively
• Save time wasted in the parking lot
• No consumption of fossil fuels during parking
• Least chances of accident
Project Highlights
• To create a prototype of an autonomous multistoried parking system with
maximum parking spaces and minimum of land capacity.
• To reduce time in car parking and mechanize car parking process to be a more
convenient process for patrons.
• To apply the programmable logic controller (PLC) technology in controlling
the autonomous car parking system prototype.
• To create a user-friendly car parking system by implementing Human Machine
Interface (HMI) in the control system.

A programmable logic
controller (PLC), is an
industrial digital computer which
has been ruggedized and adapted for
the control of manufacturing
processes, such as assembly lines,
or robotic devices, or any activity
that requires high reliability control
and ease of programming and
process fault diagnosis.

Why PLC ?
• Very fast
• Easy to change logic i.e. flexibility
• Reliable due to absence of moving parts
• Low power consumption
• Easy maintenance due to modular assembly
• Easy to couple with the process computers
• Analog signal handling and close loop control programming
• Counter, timer and logic operators can be used according to
requirement
PROXIMITY SENSORS
A proximity sensor is a sensor able to
detect the presence of nearby objects
without any physical contact. A
proximity sensor often emits
an electromagnetic field or a beam
of electromagnetic radiation (infrared,
for instance), and looks for changes in
the field or return signal.
DC MOTORS
DC motor is any of a class of rotary
electrical machines that converts direct
current electrical energy into
mechanical energy. DC motors were the
first type widely used, since they could
be powered from existing direct-current
lighting power distribution systems.
