The Balance of Three Content Delivery Organization
Content Relevant to the audience, tell them why they should listen to the info Information/research available Provides new information to audience As a speaker, you understand the topic well and enjoy the information Information gathered fits the three minute time criteria
Organization Make it easy Clear organization and structure Emphasize important points Don’t overwhelm the audience Build on prior knowledge Define your terms Use appropriate supporting material Use appropriate presentation aids
Rule of 30/70  (Dance and Zak-Dance) Balance of predictability and uncertainty Predictability should represent 70% of speech 30% of speech should have variety or unpredictability Balance of keeping audience interested vs bored – integrate both
