We need to stimulate the curiosity of our students, give our students the opportunity to search for relevant information and ideas and challenge them to use or apply what they discover in new contexts or in new ways. (Ministry of Education, 2008) To do this we need to model ‘critical thinking’, so our students can access information efficiently and effectively evaluate information critically and competently use information accurately and creatively apply a fundamental understanding of the ethical/legal issues surrounding the access and use of information.
