Web 2.0 tools like social networking, blogs, wikis, and mashups have become primary forms of communication and collaboration in the enterprise. A survey found that 54% of respondents use Web 2.0 technologies for work and 64% said coworkers use social networking at work. While Web 2.0 includes various collaboration tools, social networking sites specifically help companies develop their brand and drive marketing initiatives in a more outward facing manner. The goal of Web 2.0 tools is to foster productive behavior among employees, customers, and partners through efficient communication and sharing of knowledge.
